Tara “Killer-Watt” Bono is the Marketing Manager at EmPower Solar,

a major sponsor of the Fight for Charity in 2018. She learned about Fight for Charity from co-founder Jeff Cohen.

“I was looking for a way to get more involved with helping Long Islanders in need and putting on boxing gloves for a worthy cause appealed to me,” Tara said. “The charitable cause will keep me focused on training and will help me to stay on track right up until the Main Event when I step into the ring.”

Tara is a board member of Long Island Solar Energy Industry Association (LISEIA) and active in C3E Women in Energy. She is the co-founder and a past board member of LiiNCS, a nonprofit association for young professionals on Long Island committed to improving local communities through personal and professional development. She plays weekly beach volley ball with the “Suns of the Beach” EmPower employee team and spends time kayaking and hiking around Long Island.

She graduated from SUNY Stony Brook and earned a Masters in Public Administration at CUNY Baruch College. Tara grew up in Seaford and recently put down new roots in East Islip.
