Laura Moakley is a passionate advocate for the autism community, combining professional expertise with deeply personal motivation. She holds an M.S. in Education from CW Post and a B.A. in Art History from Stony Brook University.

This year, Laura is stepping into the ring for the Long Island Fight for Charity on behalf of the Nassau Suffolk Autism Society of America (NSASA)—a cause that holds special meaning as the mother of a son with autism.  Her personal experience has shown her the importance of NSASA’s work, and she’s proud to represent and step into the ring for  an organization that has made a real difference in her family’s life.

She completed  the LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities) Program at Stony Brook University’s School of Social Welfare, in May of 2025. This training inspired her to launch Beyond the Spectrum NY, a developing resource hub designed to connect Long Island families with support and services following a developmental disability diagnosis.

Based in Seaford with her husband and two children, Laura brings energy, heart, and purpose to everything she does. Her fight is not just in the ring—it’s for a more inclusive future for all families affected by autism.

Support Laura’s fight by buying a ticket, becoming a sponsor, or making a donation. Every bit helps two amazing charities making a difference for families affected by autism.
