
Glen “The German Sermon” Tuifel is the Vice President of the Mineola –based CSEA Nassau Local 830, the largest municipal employee union on Long Island, representing approximately 10,000 members who work for Nassau County, Nassau Community College and Nassau University Medical Center.
Glen is a long-time labor leader and activist. He has been fighting for the hard working men and women of Nassau County for decades. Boxing for a great cause is a natural extension of his fighting spirit. Glen was urged to take part in the Long Island Fight for Charity for several years by friends and associates. A fan of boxing, he was involved with the sport when he was younger, but has not boxed for over 30 years. He is committed to personal fitness and, over the last four months, has lost 40 pounds. The training and boxing match will give him the opportunity to continue to pursue his fitness goals. He is committed to training and raising funds to help fellow Long Islanders who are struggling.
He is a board member of the Nassau County Deferred Compensation Plan and a member of the Schlierachtaler Stamm and Plattdeutsche Park in Franklin Square. Glen performs charity work at Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock and belongs to the L.I. Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO networking group.
Glen graduated from Archbishop Molloy High School in Briarwood and earned a Bachelor of Arts from SUNY Stony Brook. He is the father of two daughters – Judy and Allison – and currently resides in Glen Cove, New York.
